1. Terms of Service
1.1 Acceptance and scope
By creating an account, listing a ticket, or completing a purchase on TicketHunter, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service together with our Privacy Policy, Marketplace Rules and Cookie Policy (together, the "Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
These Terms apply to all users in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Where you are a consumer (acting outside your trade, business, craft or profession), nothing in these Terms removes or limits your statutory consumer rights.
1.2 The TicketHunter service
TicketHunter operates a fan-to-fan resale marketplace. We provide the technical platform, identity verification, escrowed payments, and dispute resolution support; sellers list the tickets they offer for resale and buyers purchase them. Except where expressly stated, TicketHunter is not a party to the contract of sale, which is between the seller and the buyer.
1.3 Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to register or transact.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep your contact email up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity on your account; keep your sign-in credentials confidential.
- One person may hold one account. Bulk or commercial seller accounts require a separate written agreement with TicketHunter.
1.4 Listing a ticket (sellers)
When you list a ticket, you confirm that: (a) you legally own the ticket and have the right to resell it under the original issuer's terms; (b) the description (event, date, section, row, seat numbers and face value) is accurate; (c) the ticket has not been listed elsewhere and you will remove it from any other marketplace if it sells here. The Marketplace Rules in Section 3 form part of these Terms and apply to every listing.
Sellers set their own asking price. TicketHunter does not guarantee a sale, ranking or visibility for any listing.
1.5 Buying a ticket
When you place an order, TicketHunter accepts payment on the seller's behalf and holds it in escrow. A binding contract of sale is formed between you and the seller at the moment payment is taken and the listing is reserved. The buyer-side fee shown on the listing is TicketHunter's service charge for facilitating the transaction.
1.6 Fees
- Buyer fee: an all-in fee comprising an 11% platform fee calculated on the seller's asking price, plus a 2% payment-processing fee calculated on the asking price plus the platform fee (i.e. the subtotal). The combined effective markup is approximately 13%. The exact figure is shown on every listing before checkout, with no further charges added at the payment step.
- Seller fee: 0% from the date these Terms take effect until 1 January 2027, after which a 1% seller fee applies. The seller receives 100% of the asking price (minus the seller fee where applicable) once funds are released.
- VAT, where chargeable, is included in the fees shown.
- Fee rates may change. Where a fee change applies to existing listings, sellers will be notified at least 14 days before it takes effect and may withdraw the listing without penalty.
1.7 Ticket transfer and delivery
After purchase the seller is required to transfer the ticket through the original issuer's supported transfer method or, where transfer is not supported, to follow the provider-specific guidance we send. Sellers must complete the transfer within the time window shown on their seller dashboard.
1.8 Buyer protection and refunds
TicketHunter holds the buyer's payment in escrow and releases it to the seller seven days after the event date, provided no dispute has been opened. If the ticket fails to arrive, is invalid at the venue, or the event is cancelled, the buyer is entitled to a full refund of the amount paid (including fees). Refunds are made to the original payment method and normally arrive within 5–10 business days.
Event reschedules: if the event is rescheduled, tickets are usually valid for the new date. If the buyer cannot attend the rescheduled date, they may request a refund within 14 days of the reschedule announcement.
1.9 Seller payouts
Seller payouts are initiated seven days after the event date and are made by bank transfer to the account verified during onboarding. We may withhold payouts pending the outcome of a dispute or where there is a reasonable suspicion of fraud, misrepresentation or breach of the Marketplace Rules.
1.10 Prohibited use
- Listing tickets you do not own or have no right to resell.
- Listing speculative or "to be issued" tickets you do not yet hold.
- Using bots, scrapers or automated tooling to list, buy or scrape data from the platform.
- Listing the same ticket on multiple platforms at the same time.
- Attempting to take a transaction off-platform to avoid fees, buyer protection or anti-fraud checks.
1.11 Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these Terms or the Marketplace Rules have been breached. Where the breach is material (for example fraud, bot use, or repeated invalid listings) we may withhold pending payouts and report the conduct to relevant authorities.
1.12 The platform is provided "as is"; warranties disclaimed
Except where the law mandates otherwise (in particular non-excludable consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015), the TicketHunter platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all representations, warranties, conditions and other terms of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of content, non-infringement, availability, freedom from defect, freedom from interruption, and the security or uninterrupted operation of any feature.
Without limiting the above, TicketHunter makes no warranty that: (a) the platform will be available without delay or error; (b) listings, prices or seller information are accurate or up-to-date at any given moment; (c) any particular event will go ahead, be on the published date, or be held in the published venue; (d) tickets purchased through the platform will be honoured by the issuer, venue or organiser; (e) the actions of third parties (sellers, buyers, original ticket issuers, payment processors, courier services, identity providers, venues, transport operators) will be timely, lawful, or as the user expects.
1.13 Role and responsibility of TicketHunter
TicketHunter is the operator of a peer-to-peer resale marketplace. Except where expressly stated, TicketHunter is not the seller of any ticket, is not the agent of any seller, is not the agent of any buyer, and is not a party to the underlying contract of sale formed between buyer and seller. TicketHunter's role is limited to providing the technical platform, handling escrowed payment, providing identity verification, providing dispute-resolution support, and otherwise facilitating the transaction.
TicketHunter does not generate, set, recommend or approve any ticket price; sellers price their own listings. References to "verified", "fan-to-fan", "fair", "buyer protection" and similar terms describe operational features of the platform and do not constitute a guarantee of any specific outcome.
1.14 No liability for third parties or external events
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TicketHunter is not liable for any loss, claim, damage or expense arising out of or in connection with:
- Any act, omission, fraud, misrepresentation, negligence or default by a seller, buyer, or any other user of the platform.
- Any cancellation, postponement, rescheduling, abandonment, or material change of an event by the organiser, artist, venue, promoter or governing body.
- The refusal of entry by a venue, including where the refusal arises from the venue's own checks of identity, age, photographic ID, or any condition imposed by the original ticket issuer.
- The behaviour, decisions, ticket-validity rules, transfer mechanics, account suspensions or terms-of-service changes of any original ticket issuer, including (without limitation) Ticketmaster, AXS, DICE, See Tickets, Eventim, SeatGeek or any other primary ticketing platform.
- Any disruption, downtime, data loss, security incident or service interruption of a third-party processor we rely on, including Stripe, Supabase, Resend, Cloudflare, Google or any payment network.
- Any travel, accommodation, time off work, childcare, transport, parking, food and drink, merchandise or other consequential cost incurred by a buyer in anticipation of attending an event.
- Government action, regulatory action, public-health restriction, strike, civil unrest, terrorism, severe weather, pandemic, or any other event of force majeure.
1.15 Limitation of liability
Subject always to Section 1.16 below, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- TicketHunter shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential or punitive loss; nor for any loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, loss of enjoyment, loss of opportunity or loss of data, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise.
- TicketHunter's total aggregate liability to any one user in respect of any single transaction is strictly limited to the amount the user actually paid TicketHunter for that transaction (the buyer-paid total or, for a seller, the platform fees received from that transaction).
- TicketHunter's total aggregate liability to any one user across all matters arising in any rolling twelve-month period is strictly limited to the greater of (i) the total fees that user paid TicketHunter in the same period and (ii) £100.
- No claim may be brought against TicketHunter more than six months after the event date or the date of the act or omission complained of, whichever is later.
1.16 Liability that cannot be excluded
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes TicketHunter's liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation by us; (c) any other liability that, under the law of England and Wales, cannot be lawfully excluded or limited. Where you are a consumer, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these Terms.
1.17 Buyer protection is a goodwill programme, not an insurance contract
The buyer-protection refund described in Section 1.8 is a contractual feature of these Terms operated at TicketHunter's discretion within the scope set out. It is not a financial services product, is not regulated insurance, and creates no liability beyond the transaction price actually paid. We may amend the buyer-protection scope on 30 days' written notice to registered users; existing pending transactions are honoured under the scope in force when payment was taken.
1.18 Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless TicketHunter, its officers, employees, agents and sub-processors from and against any claim, demand, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the platform; (b) your breach of these Terms or the Marketplace Rules; (c) your infringement of any third party's intellectual property or other rights; (d) for sellers, any claim by a buyer that the ticket you sold was invalid, counterfeit, misdescribed or otherwise not as described; (e) for any user, any tax liability arising from their use of the platform.
1.19 Force majeure
TicketHunter is not in breach of these Terms or otherwise liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations to the extent caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including (without limitation) acts of God, severe weather, fire, flood, earthquake, pandemic, epidemic, war, terrorism, civil disorder, government action, strike, lockout, labour dispute, failure of utilities or internet infrastructure, or the act or omission of any third-party platform we rely on.
1.20 Tax
Each user is responsible for assessing and discharging their own tax obligations arising from their use of the platform, including any income tax, VAT, capital gains tax or other liability arising from a sale. TicketHunter is not a tax adviser and provides no tax advice. Where law requires us to report transaction information to a tax authority (including reporting under the OECD Model Rules for digital platforms and HMRC's reporting requirements for online marketplaces), we will do so without separate notice.
1.21 Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held by a competent court to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remainder of the Terms remains in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Marketplace Rules and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TicketHunter and supersede any prior agreement or representation, save in respect of any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
1.22 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. TicketHunter may assign or novate these Terms to any successor, purchaser of the business, or affiliate, on notice to you.
1.23 Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save where a non-excludable consumer right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or comparable EU/Member State law gives a consumer the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence.

- Resend for transactional email delivery.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
2.5 Where we store data
Personal data is stored on servers within the European Economic Area (EEA) wherever possible. Where data is transferred outside the EEA (for example to Stripe's US infrastructure for payment authorisation), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and the European Commission.
2.6 How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is active and for 12 months after closure.
- Transaction records: 6 years (UK tax law requirement).

- Restrict or object to processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or your local supervisory authority in the EU.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tickethunter.io. We respond within 30 days.
2.8 Security
We use HTTPS for all traffic, encrypt passwords at rest, hold payment data through PCI-DSS compliant processors, and operate the principle of least privilege internally. No system is 100% secure; we will notify affected users and the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of any personal-data breach that meets the notification threshold.
2.9 Children
TicketHunter is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
3. Marketplace Rules
These Marketplace Rules apply to every listing and every buyer. Breach may result in immediate removal of the listing, withholding of payouts, account suspension and reporting to the relevant authorities.
3.1 What you can list
- Tickets you legally own and have the contractual right to resell under the original issuer's terms.
- Tickets where the event organiser, artist or venue has not specifically prohibited resale.
- Tickets for which you can provide proof of purchase if challenged.
3.2 What you cannot list
- Tickets you do not yet hold (speculative listings).
- Tickets already listed on another marketplace at the same time.
- Tickets restricted by the issuer or by law (some UK sports fixtures are statutorily resale-restricted under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994).
- Counterfeit, screenshotted or duplicate-barcode tickets.
- Tickets obtained using bots or automated buying tools.
3.3 Price caps
Where the original issuer, artist or governing body imposes a face-value or other price cap on resale, TicketHunter enforces that cap. Where no cap is imposed, sellers may price freely. Buyers always see the full all-in price on the listing.
3.4 Verified uploads
Sellers may be required to upload a verified copy of the ticket (e.g. PDF, screenshot of the issuer's app, or transfer confirmation) before a listing goes live. Tickets that fail verification are not listed.
3.5 No bots, no scraping
Automated listing, purchasing or scraping of the platform is prohibited. We use rate limiting, fingerprinting and behavioural analysis to detect automated activity and will block detected bots. Accounts found to use bots will be permanently closed and reported to the National Cyber Security Centre and applicable trading standards bodies.
3.6 Fraudulent seller penalties
- First proven instance of misrepresentation: listing removed, buyer fully refunded, seller account warned, payout withheld.
- Second proven instance: account suspended pending review, all pending payouts forfeited.
- Third proven instance or any single instance of intentional fraud (counterfeit, duplicate, sale-then-cancel): permanent ban and referral to Action Fraud.
3.7 Buyer obligations
- Pay the listed all-in price in full at checkout.
- Follow the provider-specific transfer instructions promptly so the seller can complete the handover.
- Notify us within 7 days of the event of any issue at the venue (invalid ticket, refused entry, mismatched seat) so we can investigate and trigger the buyer-protection refund.
3.8 Reporting
If you believe a listing breaches these Rules, report it via the listing page or by emailing trust@tickethunter.io. We investigate every report within 24 hours.
4. Cookie Policy
We use a minimal set of first-party cookies to make TicketHunter work, and non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising) only with your consent through the cookie banner. We operate Google Consent Mode v2: all non-essential signals are denied by default until you opt in.
4.1 What we set
- Essential (always on): session and authentication cookies set by our identity provider; cookie-consent state.
- Analytics (consent-based): Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. Stores an anonymous client identifier and event timestamps. No raw IP address is stored.
- Advertising (consent-based): currently none. Will be added only with renewed consent.
- Functional (consent-based): currently none.
4.2 No third-party trackers
We do not set Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar, FullStory, or any similar third-party tracker. If we add one in future we will update this policy and request renewed consent through the banner.
4.3 Managing your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by re-opening the banner via the link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
4.4 Retention
- Authentication: until you sign out or the session expires (typically 30 days).
- Consent state: 12 months from acceptance.
- Analytics: 14 months (Google Analytics default for our region).
